Job Overview:
Intake patients as they enter the office, collecting insurance/ID cards, updating demographic information, providing appropriate paper work to patient dependent on reason for visit, collect co-payments, deductibles, and co-insurance for predetermined services. Create a pleasant, welcoming, helpful atmosphere for patients when they first enter the office. Provide excellent customer service, and clear communication with patients, outside provider's office, and coworkers. Check in staff are the key to a smooth flow throughout the day ensuring patients are seen as quickly as possible, and have a pleasant experience.
Responsibilities:
- Have patient's sign in, and work charts in order of time signed in
- Collect ID cards, verify/update demographic info, ensure completeness of patient paperwork
- Verify referrals are valid as necessary
- Collect patient responsibilities for pre-determined services (co-pay, deductible, co-insurance, etc.)
- Communicate with patients in a pleasant manner
- Communicate missing information to patients, appropriate co-workers, and outside providers
- Place completed charts in appropriate racks (x-ray, attending provider)
- Scan ID cards, paperwork, etc. into patient's EHR
- Other tasks as assigned by administration
Qualifications:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year medical office experience, 3 years preferred
- Excellent communication, customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills a must. Bilingual a plus.
- Must have a smiling personality, be reliable, and efficient
